Mapping users

After the accounts have been connected to the app, the administrator must map source user accounts to destination user accounts by creating a migration plan (i.e., a list of source and corresponding destination accounts).

VaultMe for Admins will create a batch of accounts based on the migration plan.

Creating a batch

The administrator creates a list of source Google Workspace accounts and their corresponding Microsoft 365 destination accounts. Each pairing defines one migration path.

VaultMe for Admins supports:

1. Assigning multiple source accounts to the same destination account (for example, when consolidating several user accounts into a single account in the destination). When multiple sources share the same destination, the migrations will be processed sequentially. Because each migration generates a high load on the destination environment, VaultMe for Admins cannot use one destination for two concurrent transfers. The next migration begins automatically once the previous one finishes.
2. Using accounts with the same email addresses in the source and destination (for example, when an organization changes service providers without changing the email addresses). Accounts may have the same email address in the source and destination. As long as different service providers are selected for the source and destination, VaultMe for Admins will map the accounts correctly.

If there are a few accounts, their email addresses can be typed in manually. Otherwise, it is recommended to map source email addresses to the destination email addresses using two columns in a simple Excel or Google Sheet file and paste the list into the corresponding window in VaultMe for Admins.

If admin authorization is used, VaultMe for Admins will automatically connect to the accounts listed in the migration plan. Users won't have to additionally confirm their consent.

Batch size

For best performance, it is recommended to create smaller batches. For more information on how batch size may affect the migration speed, see Migration duration.

The maximum supported batch size is 100 accounts. If there are more than 100 accounts to migrate, several separate batches must be created.

Multiple batches can run in parallel. The number of batches per project is unlimited.
